9th Grade Honors Placement Testing (9th English Language Arts Honors and World History Honors)

Any student planning on taking 9th Grade English Honors or World History Honors will need to take a qualifying placement test.  The placement exam will be held on March 20, 2012 at Goddard and Sandburg Middle Schools.  (This examination date will only be available to students enrolled in these two schools.)  To sign up for the exam, students from Goddard or Sandburg need to return a parent signed permission slip to their counselor no later than March 16, 2012.  The permission slip can be found on the EdLine account at both school.

For students who will be new to GUSD in the fall, the honors placement test for English Language Arts Honors and World History Honors will be offered on TBD at 9:00am in the GHS College and Career Center.  Please sign up for this exam duirng your enrollment appointment or by calling Laurie Bedo at (626) 963-5731 ext. 254.

Final placement in 9th Grade English Honors and World History Honors is determined using multiple measures.  A complete description of this process is located on page 5 of the GHS Registration Information Handbook .

9th grade Honors Placement Testing (Math and Science)

For students coming from within GUSD math and science honors placement is based on your 8th grade teacher's recommendation.  If you have questions about this placement please direct your questions to your 8th grade teacher.

If your student is new to GUSD and wish to be placed in a math class above Algebra I, they will need to take a placement test on TBD.  Please sign up for this exam during your enrollment appointment or by calling Laurie Bedo at (626) 963-5731 ext. 254.

For students new to GUSD wishing to enroll in Honors Biology, please discuss this placement with your counselor during your enrollment appointment.
