I am the newest counselor to join the Glendora High School Counseling team. I graduated from the University of California Irvine in 1970 with a B.A. in History emphasizing Latin American studies. I earned my teaching credential from U.C.I. in 1972. I later earned a Master of Science in Education Administration from California State University Fullerton in 1989. I also hold valid service credentials for Pupil Personnel Services and Level I and Level II Administrative Services.
My first job teaching was at Mission Viejo High School in the fall of 1972. The next year I was fortunate to transfer to Silverado High School, the continuation high school for Saddleback Valley Unified School District. From 1973 until 1980 I was a classroom teacher in Social Studies and English. I became a guidance counselor for Silverado in 1981 and remained there in that capacity until 1984. In the fall of 1984 I began my tenure as principal of the alternative education facility, Whitcomb High School, in the Glendora Unified School District. I remained in that position for the next 23 years.
In addition, I served as the school's guidance counselor. I currently work with Special Education students, Section 504 service plan students, and other students identified as "at risk" of not graduating on time. Other honors or positions include Vice President of the Saddleback Valley Educators Association, President of the Glendora Administrators Association and recipient of the Service to Youth Award for 1996 from the Glendora Coordinating Council.
